Understanding the Different Types of Pool Liners - TMC Custom Pools

When you are building a new pool on your property, it is important to make sure that you equip your pool with a quality liner that is made out of durable materials. Since your pool liner provides both water containment and aesthetic appeal, shopping for a pool liner is among the most important decisions that you will make when you are building a new pool. A pool contractor can provide you with a variety of pool liner options for your new pool installation. To help you get ready to build your new pool, here is a look at some of the different types of pool liners.

Overlap Liners

Overlap liners are among the most popular types of liners that are used in today’s pools. An overlap liner is designed to extend over the edge of your pool wall, creating a secure and seamless bond. In order to secure your overlap liner in place, your pool installation technician will use a special material that is called coping.

Beaded Pool Liners

Another type of liner that you may want to consider for your pool is a beaded pool liner. Unlike an overlap liner, which is secured with pool coping strips, a beaded pool liner is held in place with a row of clips and beads. These liners offer the advantage of providing your pool with a very seamless look.

J-Hook Liners

J-hook liners are available for installation in both in ground and above ground pools. In order to secure the liner into place, your pool technician will match a series of perforated edges together. The perforated edges create a watertight seal that will last for many swimming seasons to come.
